What can I offer?

I want to support women and birthing people to navigate the maternity system, to empower them to ask the right questions and advocate for themselves and to feel fully in control of their own birth, whatever that may look like. As your doula, I am not here to tell you how to birth but to provide you with continuity of care and the tools to make your own informed, evidence-based decisions and take full ownership of your power!

Are you ready to remove the fear and take control of your birth? Let’s do this together!

Book a 30 minute discovery call to see if you would like me to support you as your doula.

Drop me a message to find out how I can support you!

I can tailor my antenatal, birth and postnatal packages to suit your needs but as a rough guide, see what we will be doing together to ensure you feel prepared for your birth and beyond. Leave me a message so we can arrange a free 30 minute discovery call.

Antenatal Support

We will cover the physiology of birth, birthing positions, breathwork, movement, comfort measures, what to expect at your antenatal appointments and much more. We will also take a deep dive into your previous birthing history and/or any fears or concerns you may have surrounding childbirth. We will put everything into a birth plan that you can share with your healthcare professionals. If you choose to freebirth, then this will serve as a guide to your wishes for my role as your doula during your birth.

I normally offer you and your partner (if applicable) a minimum of two antenatal sessions prior to birth.

Postnatal Support

Bringing new life into the world is a magical time, but it really does take a village to raise a child. I would be privileged to be a part of yours. I can cook nutritious meals* for you and your family, look after older siblings, walk the dog, assist with breastfeeding, hold space for you while you debrief the birth, or simply give you space to have a nap. I can also signpost local services and baby groups to ensure you feel supported throughout your fourth trimester by the relevant healthcare professionals. It really is down to you and your needs!

*food to be provided by you

I normally offer two postnatal sessions as part of a birth package but I also offer standalone postnatal packages (minimum 12 hours).

Birth Support

Your body knows how to birth and, after careful antenatal preparation, you and your partner (if applicable) will feel empowered to start your journey into parenthood. I am here for you (and your partner) every step of the way, be it at home, at the birthing centre or in hospital. I can be as hands-on or as hands-off as you wish. I will use my knowledge and skills to hold space for you, reassure and comfort you, and to support you to make decisions you feel comfortable with. I will do my best to ensure your birth preferences are adhered to. I will stay with you for the "golden hour", those sacred moments immediately following the birth.

Virtual Support

If you would prefer virtual doula support instead, I am here for you. This support would be very similar to my wraparound birth package except for my physical presence and would offer a flexible and affordable alternative. I would recommend a minimum of three x 2 hour antenatal sessions, plus at least one postnatal session in addition to my text/email/phone support throughout. During the birth, I would provide support via Facetime/Whatsapp/phone to enable you to stay at home as long as possible before transferring to hospital or calling the midwives. This can all be adapted depending on your needs.

Postnatal Recovery Massage

I am trained in postnatal recovery massage. But what is it?

Inspired by a traditional postnatal massage ritual called closing the bones, the Postnatal Recovery Massage (PRM) is done on a massage table and involves using rebozo shawls to rock and bind the person’s body, together with an extensive massage of the abdomen, hips, waist, ribs, chest, shoulders and arms with a special warming oil.

It is designed to help realign and balance a new parent, as well as help them return to their centre, both physically and energetically. It is also suited to support women and people who have birthed through life transitions.

This unique technique was developed by doula and healer Sophie Messager together with Cambridge osteopath Teddy Brookes.
